Eight Months

Man he's so big!!!

What dis is?? You fink you can puts dis behind me??

Nope.

Yup, this is what he thinks of the monthly birthday sign. Stealing the spotlight and all.

He had just pushed Fredbird's arm and it started playing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game". Very concerned about poor Fred.

Showing off both of his teeth.

This was my favorite photo shoot so far. This is the first time I've tried to set up a little studio in our house (using natural light). And this is the first time I've really tried to use Photoshop. There are SO many different things you can do. Right now I'm just trying to figure out all the little tricks you can do, and then decide which ones I really need to use. And, I don't know what it is, but there is just something about a baby in a simple white onsie. Harvey has tons of wardrobe choices, but this is what I wanted to photograph him in. I just love it!

Ok, Harvey at 8 months:

*He loves to sit and play with his toys----and he would rather do this than be held. Especially when he's tired. Gotta fight the good fight, make sure you never accidently fall asleep. But we still get to sneak in a good snuggle every now and then. Still our baby boy. :)
Favorite toys--Rubber duck, his horse from Keeneland, his puppy from his great grandmother, his keys.

*Harvey loves animals. He likes that cats have to convenient handles on top of their heads, good for keeping their attention. He loves to pull on dogs' jowls/whiskers/faces. Thus why he's never allowed to be in a room alone with a dog. Anytime an animal comes near him, he giggles and reaches out for them. So very sweet. Until they come too close and Harvey loves on them real good.

*He now has two teeth, and he loves to try almost any table food. He actually prefers table food to baby food. He will stare into space and slowly eat his baby food, but when you start giving him what you're eating, look out! This kid springs to life, sitting there with his mouth open like a baby bird.
Favorite foods---Yogurt, Bocca crumbles (good thing!), eggs, bananas, and anything sweet that we're willing to give him.

*Still not a big fan of moving around. He's an expert sitter, and he wants to keep it that way. I know I said I never want him to move around, but that was all talk. He still barely rolls over, so it's time to get busy. I make him lay on his stomach and watch Mary Helen crawl/inch worm all over the place, in hope he will be inspired. So far, he's just inspired to roll back over onto his back and stare at the ceiling.

*Speaking of sweet Mary Helen, he loves her. And I think she's quite fond of him. They spent 2 weeks apart during Christmas, and when he came back, they just stared at each other and smiled for the longest time. They are both so glad to see each other when nap is over (each probably forgot the other was there, but whatever). Such sweet playmates. So glad they have each other! And I'm glad to be there with both of them as well. The two best and cutest kids I've ever known.
