Stream of Consciousness

I'm all over the place today, so I thought I would write a blog just to get it all out there. So you can share in the constant state of crazy that goes on in my head all the live long day. You're welcome.

*I'm motivated to start organizing and utilizing all the photos we have taken over the last 2+ years. John and I take pictures all the time, upload them onto the computer, and there they sit forever. Rarely ever printed. So first, I'm starting a Shutterfly book for Harvey. Starting with day one and moving on to the photos I took yesterday. Then each day/week, I'll add some new pages until we get to his first birthday. It's going to be one heck of a book, probably none too cheap. But priceless all the same. I also want ot make a book of photos from when John and I were dating, engaged------yup, all 9 months of photos! Whew, that should take awhile! :) And maybe I'll even finish our wedding scrapbook. Maybe.

*I'm also motivated to get some artsy projects done around the house. Darn cold weekend this weekend, so maybe I'll even get those done as well. Or sit around and catch up on Desperate Housewives. We'll see.

*Photoshop is overwhelming. I could sit and edit/re edit/edit one more time, the same photo over and over again. And I do. Perhaps less is more. Really need to work on that. His eight month photos, took me 3 hours to edit and post those. They weren't that bad to start with. And they're not that amazing after 3 hours of work.

*Harvey is obsessed with paper. For real. He just wants to eat it, crunch it, love it. Grocery shopping with him is an ordeal. Pushing the cart and holding my shopping list in my hand----impossible. He's constantly trying to snatch it out of my hands. Everyday on our way home, I stop by the mailbox and put our mail in my open bag. As I'm carrying him in (with my bag full-o-mail on the same side), he's looking forward like nothing is going on, but has his little pudgey hand rummaging around in the mail behind me. So slick. And on days when there are lots of advertisements, he usually is able to pull some out. I just let him chew on it and try not to think about all the H1N1/cold virus hands that have touched that mail. Nasty.

*I need to get some shopping done this weekend. Dress/clothes/clearance shopping. With an 8 month old in tow. In the cold. Ain't gonna happen this weekend my friends.

*I've saved $177 on groceries this week. Spent $120. Yup, I'm amazing. And humble. Amazingly humble. Got 4 small boxes of Ritz crackers and 2 Reach toothbrushes for $.35. Never thought I would see the day when I get all excited about super double coupons----but here we are, and man am I pumped!

*Harvey inched forward yesterday. Literally, moved forward one inch. But that's huge in his world. Locomotion is not Harvey's forte. He still sleeps flat on his back, right in the middle of his bed. He stays in the same position we put him in all night long. Home boy does not like to move. But I digress. There was a toy just out of reach, so he mustered all his strength, pushed his little (chubby) body forward, and touched the toy. Then he promptly layed his head down on the floor, and rolled back over onto his back. Poor guy, really wore himself out.

*The news people really don't help out with the snow scare situation here in Nashville. Yesterday afternoon I was so nervous about driving in the .10 inch of snow, I was really thinking getting behind the wheel meant certain death. But it didn't. Wasn't even really slick. Lots of accidents though. Probably because those people watched the news like I did and were so afraid, they just ran off the road/hit something just to go ahead and get it over with. Figured it was ineveitable.

Ah, I feel better, don't you? I knew you would.

I think we should go shopping in the cold tomorrow. I'll handle the Harv, you handle the shopping. Please?
