A Little of This and A Little of That

Whew, I've taken so many photos this week, Harvey probably wouldn't recognize my face if I didn't have the camera in front of it. Trying to strike a balance between learning how to get a good photo, capturing sweet memories, and just living in the moment. But until then, look out Harvey, I've learned how to shoot in rapid succession! I'll never miss a single moment of your life!

So I'm thinking this teething thing is getting a little out of hand. He's currently cutting his second tooth (yup, number 2 of like 75---going to be a long road my friends), and he is certainly letting us know all about it. Wednesday night/ Thursday morning he woke up every hour crying. We just left him in his bed and he would eventually go back to sleep. At 4:45am he decided enough was enough, and he cried for 30 minutes straight. Finally I decided he won, and he was so worked up and upset, we brought him to our bed. Harvey suddenly forgot about all the "pain" he was in and started rejoicing in his victory over sleep. John and I are both laying there, in the dark, trying to sleep. Meanwhile, Harv is between us, flapping his arms wildly, slapping me in the face repeatedly, kicking his legs as fast as he can, running the Music City Half Marathon in bed, panting like a dog. I thought he was going to take flight any second. John decided to go ahead and get up and get ready. I was not willing to give up my quest for 5 more minutes of sleep. Yup, that will get you through the day for sure. So I laid there and took a beating until he finally accidently dropped off to sleep (smiling, of course) right when my alarm went off. Awesome. So I took him to his bed where he slept for another hour, and I did not. Last night he got some Motrin before bed and slept much better. He did get up to eat TWO times last night, but what can you do? You gotta eat if you want to keep those cankles nice and round!

Here are some random photos from this week.

Here's Puff Daddy (Puffy, P Diddy, Diddy, D, whatever you want to call him) chowing down on some fruit puffs.

Must have found a bitter one. :)

You can never have too many bath time/nudey/bribery photos. Never.

Daaaad, she's evewy wherwe wif dat fing!!

Here's how Harv spends his days with Mary Helen.
Boy loves him a good lovie, even if it's pink.

Yup, he basically spends his days chewing on all her stuff. Pretty sweet gig.

And eating, of course. He does plenty of that everyday as well.

The Harv

Man, this kid and his facial expressions. They say it all. (These are all much better if you click on them to see them bigger).
For real? More pictures??

Ok,ok ,ok. I'm ready!

Make sure you get dis side. Is my good one.

Can you sees me now?

Yo, Adrienne!

Ok, dats nuf playin mom, I gotta get back to work. Wots to do, being wittle and all.

I was in the kitchen feeding MH and taking some pictures of her while Harvey was in the living room playing. You can see straight into the kitchen from the living room, and when I looked over at Harvey, this is what I saw:

(A bit blurry, but you get the point)
Yup, that's my boy, completely surrounded by toys he's not touching, staring a hole though me while I give my attention (and the attention of the camera) to MH. Check out that pouty face!

And all better once the camera is back on him. I'm afraid we may have created a bit of a monster.

Some photos of Mary helen chowing down!

Harvey's First Rams Game

Today the Rams played the Titans here in Nashville. Since the Rams are our family NFL team (chosen by John), we decided we should go and support them while they're in our home town. Got to make sure we get in all the major sporting events before Harvey turns 1!

Such a great thing for John to be able to share with his son.

You think this kid was having fun? Such a performer for the camera. He thinks we bought the new big camera just so he could try out some new faces.

Man, the pictures I post (and don't delete) all because Harvey is too cute. So much to sacrifice when you're a mother.

Harvey was SO over it by the time we had a family photo. But I figure this is real life, might as well capture him "as is". And yes, our seats were in fact very close to heaven. The red fencing you see behind us is the fencing that goes all the way around the top of the stadium to keep people from falling off. I was so nervous the whole time we were up there. We wanted to stand up and turn around for our photo so we could get the field in the background, but I was not about to turn around and fall to my death (I know, just a tad dramatic. But that's how I roll).

The view from the top.

Learning how to use the manual setting on my camera. Amazing how changing one little thing changes the entire outcome.

(For this one I moved down the bridge a little and zoomed in).

This was quite a labor of love. So, Harvey obviously can't walk, you can't take a stroller to a football game, and you definitely can't just carry him 1 mile from the car to the stadium. The Side Rider seemed like the obvious choice, and it was really the only option. But I really overestimated my overall physical fitness and underestimated how heavy this kid is. I thought I was going to DIE by the time I hauled him from the car to the stadium, up all the ramps to the top section, and then up ALL the stairs to the next-to-top row. For real, couldn't breath. Must have been the altitude getting to me. Needless to say, John took him (down the stairs and downhill mind you) back to the car. We will definitely be using the Side Rider often because it is nice to have your hands free, but John will have to handle the longer pilgrimages.

My man, leading me home.
