Happy Birthday........

Tomorrow is grandma Chloe Ann's birthday.  Harvey wanted to do a special birthday post, and we suddenly realized something.  Harvey doesn't have an official grandmother name picked out. This was quite troublesome, so we got down to business.  After a quick google search (since google is the ultimate authority on everything), we found a few names we liked the best.

Here is Harvey's special birthday message:

Obviously not a fan.

He thought this one was really funny!

He he he he (insert jolly laughter here).

He was growing tired of all my shenanigans at this point.

And done!

So, there are a few options for Chloe Ann's "official" grandmother name.  No matter what he ends up calling you, Harvey wants you to have a wonderful birthday, and he wants you to know he loves you very much!  Happy birthday Chloe Ann!

Lexington Weekend

Well, we made it back from another long weekend on the road. Harvey really is such a good traveler. Let's see what we're saying in just a few short months when he has an opinion and he actually can stay awake.

First, Harvey met his great grandmother on my side, Nanan. She's a feisty one (to say the least) and she doesn't like to have her picture taken.  Fortunately, I'm equally stubborn, so I managed to get in a few photos.

Friday night, we loaded up and took all 3 kids to the fair.  All kinds of people came out of the woodwork for this night!  I didn't ride any rides, but I had the best time people watching. Oh the stories we could tell.

Five year old shenanigans.

Pretty sure this kid loves his little sister. :)

Oh my, mullets really do exist, daddy!

Still too little ride rides. But we sure can take pictures with them.

Let the people watching begin.........

You sure it's ok for me to be out here? Kinda starting to question your judgement mom and dad............

Could I look any more intense? Apparently I take eating very seriously.

Excuse me?  Pretty sure you don't want to mess with the Harv while he's eating.

We ended up waiting in one spot for quite awhile, and this is how Harvey passed the time....
Staring at this tree and flag. This kept him entertained for at least 30 minutes.

John and Connor on the bumper cars.  Connor loves his uncle John!

While we were in Lexington, we had a chance to catch up with Aunt Whitney.  Harvey loved spending some time with her (once he had his bottle, of course!).

We finally made it home sometime after midnight on Saturday night. Poor little guy was spent.

On the Road Again

Well, we're about to embark on another fantastic voyage with little Harv, this time to Kentucky. We're going to show him how real rednecks have a good time. That's right, we're taking him to the Lexington Bluegrass Fair. Complete with mullets, tee shirts with the sleeves ripped off, missing teeth (not talking about children here), chewing tobacco, carnies---you know, my hometown!  I'm really excited to ride some rides and eat some deep fried cuisine. I'm sure John and Harvey will be real impressed!

Just a few quick updates before I start packing up. The other day, Ali and I tried our hand at making some burp cloths. I have a few that someone gave me that are homemade, and I figured they would be easy to duplicate. Wrong! Let's just say, after 3 hours we had made 4 (crooked) burp cloths. And by "we" I mean Ali. Harvey was in a terrific mood, so I ended up messing with him pretty much the whole time. Needless to say, we will not be taking any orders at this time. :)

The finished product. From back here they don't look too bad.

Harvey and John during dinner that night. Little boy was tired after a full day of watching Ali sew.

I'm digging the tucked in shirt look. I really like how you can tell I'm squeezing him into his 3 month shorts and pants "just one more time".  Poor kid had some serious muffin tops this week.

More From This Weekend

Here are some more of the 1 million pictures we took this weekend.

Even though it was the middle of July, it was pretty cold this weekend, especially by the lake.  I only brought summer clothes for the boy to wear. Luckily, Betsy brought some of Nolan's old clothes for Harvey to borrow, and there was a pair of jeans.  I dug around and found some other warm-ish stuff in the bag we brought. Poor guy was not so stylish this day! (Note the expression while putting on his hat).

Even rockstars need a nap every now and then.

Harvey and his usual pose--staring blankly off to the side.

Some how we didn't end up with a family picture this night. If someone has one, I would love a copy!

See, they can all be friends! Passing down the Cardinals/Cubs tradition to the next generation. (Side note--I love that Nate and Nolan have the exact same expression here. And Harvey still has none.)

Uhhhhh, ok I'm not trying to alarm anyone, but I think there's something on my head!

Oh my goodness, there is!!!!

Get it off! Get it off!!

Whoa, look out! There's a chin strap! This is the worst hat ever!
