This morning was wonderful. Harvey slept 5 hours in a row last night (woo hoo!), and then he woke up again at 8:00 to be fed and went back to sleep until around 10:30. I should have known trouble was one the way. Sarah and Brooke got here around 11, we played around the house for a bit and then went to Swanky's Tacos for lunch with John. Harvey slept all the way through lunch!
Sharing a coke. So romantic! Then after lunch, we decided to go to TJ Max to look around. Everything started off fine, we looked around for about 25 minutes, and then the bottom fell out. I was in the dressing room trying on some stuff and I could hear Harvey from across the store. We took him out of his carrier and kept passing him around, trying to calm him down, to no avail. We had some stuff we wanted to buy, so we still had to go wait in line while he continued his melt down. I kept telling him to bring it down a notch, that this is not how you make friends. Apparently he does not need friends.
When we finally got him in the car, Sarah started to read him a book Brooke bought for him and he completely came undone. Apparently he does not prefer "Hop on Pop". I drove to the mall thinking he would calm down during the drive and then we could get out and walk around the mall. Harvey had other plans.
Brooke getting him out while I'm frantically making a bottle. Notice the lovely shade of purple he is turning.
Sarah was seriously very interested in Harvey's books. Seriously.
After this little display, we were definitely not taking him into the mall. We were actually even afraid to talk in the car at all. So we decided to drive around for a bit and then go back to our house. Once we got home, Harvey was completely fine. Here are a few more pictures from this afternoon.

All in all it was such a good visit! I had so much fun catching up with Brooke and Sarah, and I'm so glad they got to meet Harvey. And, I'm glad someone finally witnessed a good ole Harvey freak out. People read about them all the time on here and hear John and I talk about it, but when others are around, Harvey is a complete angel. Looks like times are changing---he's ramping up his tantrums and taking his show on the road! I may not be able to go out in public ever again.

I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. What a fun day! Sorry to laugh at the expense of your child, but WOW, I never knew a baby could turn purple :) You are the best mom, it was SO FUN to meet Harvey! Love you!!
Such a good laugh, but glad he is not purple anymore. I practice my reading skills for next time. So fun to see your family! John and you are amazing parents!
